Some stones on the market like to call themselves Black Galaxy when they are not and they do need to b seal.

The way you determine if your stone needs to be seal is to have the stone itself seal seal and not class you stone with others. The minding process plays a big part in where or not this slab needs to be seal. A lot of installers will rather just seal the stone and call it a day and they may use the wrong type of sealer which may cause problems if the do not understand ho to seal that slab correctly which make others say not to seal Black Galaxy.

Now lets move on to your real question, how to remove hard water stains, how do you stop them from coming back and can sealing the stone help.

What type of finish does this stone has?
What do you use to clean the stone with from day to day?
Can you please post an image of the damage area of the stone?

Total Posts: 2 		We had Black Galaxy countertops installed last year. After reading your advice forums I understand that we should never have this granite sealed. I am constantly being told by other so called experts to seal it.

Here is my problem: we have hard water stains starting to form around our copper fixtures. What can I use to remove the white chalk like stain that is forming around all of our fixtures. And is there anything to help prevent this from occurring in the future?

The installers want us to have all surfaces sealed, and have professionals come remove the stains. They also say that if we have the Black Galaxy sealed that this will not happen in the future.
